Output Valid Team Names — valid_team

Returns a character vector of valid team abbreviations or names for a given sport.

Arguments

sport: Character string identifying the sport. One of supported_sports().
type: Character string, either "abbreviation" (default) or "name".
include_conferences: If TRUE, also list the conferences sdvplotR has a logo for: the college conferences ("SEC", "Big Ten", "A-10") and "AFC", "NFC" and "NFL". They resolve like teams in every helper either way; the default, FALSE, lists teams only, so code that loops over teams sees only teams (nflplotR's valid_team_names() includes AFC, NFC and NFL).

Value

A sorted character vector of valid team identifiers.
